Heat and Work Introduction

Thermodynamics deals with energy transfer in the form of heat and mechanical work. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It is conserved. Heat and work are energies in transition. Internal energy of a system is the storage energy. In thermodynamics we are concerned about change in energy rather than absolute energy. Hence any arbitrary state can be assigned as datum of the energy or zero level of energy.
